Milwaukee’s venerable Festa Italiana will celebrate 41 years of family, fun and tradizione from July 20 to 22 at Henry W. Maier Festival Park.
Headliners include Milwaukee native and Tony Award winner Anthony Crivello, veteran actor and singer Louis Vanaria, local music legend George Busateri’s Spider George and the Web, accordion champion Cory Pesaturo, the Italian rock band FLEMT, and a pair of vocal trios — the Sicilian Tenors and Tre Bella.
Other acts include Moreno Fruzzetti, Rat Pack Reprise, Ray Massa’s Eurorhythms, Rick D’Amore, Swing Explosion, the Tom Sorce Band with Sandra Mandella and comedians Vince Carone and Carmen Vallone. The Flag Throwers of the Florentine will once again travel from Italy to perform.
Classic Italian fare, wine tastings and a cannoli-eating contest will return, and this year’s Cucina Showcase will feature celebrity chef Rossella Rago. Other highlights include Italian-style fireworks every evening, gondola and carnival rides, bocce, exhibits dedicated to the region of Liguria and vintage photos, and a replica of the Trevi Fountain. An 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday in the Marcus Amphitheater will be followed by a traditional procession of societies and patron saints.
Advance tickets are available for $10 through July 19. Tickets at the gate are $13. Children 12 and under attend for free. (www.festaitaliana.com)
