Casa language camp celebrates 13th year!

Students from grade school to high school who want to get away to Italy this summer need travel no further than Casa Italia in Stone Park. The camp is celebrating its 13th year.

The Casa’s Italian Language & Culture Summer Camp will introduce children ages 4 to 16 to the language and culture of Italy through drama, storytelling, arts and crafts, games, sports, dance, music, cuisine and film.

Campers will also learn about selected Italian regions and cities through geography, history, food and songs. Olympic-style events will be sponsored by CONI. The camp will conclude with a performance by the children and a family picnic luncheon.

Lessons are conducted in Italian by fully certified language instructors.

The camp will run Monday through Friday from June 19 to 30 and July 10 to 21. Full- and half-day programs are available for $495 and $295 respectively. Fees include instructional material, daily lunch, nutritious snacks, fruit drinks and bottled water throughout the day, and one complimentary T-shirt per student.

Camp can be purchased by the week at $200 for full-day camp and $125 for half-day camp. Extended hours are available from 7 to 9:30 a.m. and from 3:30 to 6 p.m. for a fee of $10 per hour.

Financial aid is available. The registration deadline is June 2.
