CONI is inviting boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 14 to participate in Trophy 2017 from Sept. 21 to 24 in Senigallia, Ancona, Marche, Italy. The competition is open to children who are of Italian descent via at least one of eight great-grandparents.
Trophy Kinder + Sport 2017 is a summer Olympics-style youth competition organized by CONI, the Italian National Olympic Committee.
More than 3,000 Italian boys and girls from all over Italy will compete in a variety of sports as they have for the last three years.
This program is not only a sport competition but also a cultural and social event that offers participating girls and boys a unique and unforgettable experience.
The U.S. delegation will participate for the first time along with delegations from Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Canada and Switzerland.
Each delegation can be composed of up to eight athletes from different sports plus two coaches/chaperones and one head of delegation.
Sports included in the competition are golf, track and field, triathlon, target shooting, fencing, tennis, and archery. Athletes need not be ranked but skill levels are an important consideration for selection. Interviews with prospective participants are mandatory.
A two-day visit to Rome will follow the competition. The delegation will return on Sept. 27.
While in Senigallia, food, lodging and transportation to and from competitions is offered at no cost to delegation members. The remaining costs are the responsibility of the athletes’ families.
The selection process will be closed on Aug. 22, so immediate action is required. For details, contact Mico Delianova Licastro at 631-566-0257 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
