Fall ushers in harvest of language classes

A wide range of Italian classes for both children and adults will be available across the Chicago area this fall.

The Italian Cultural Center at Casa Italia offers exploratory language classes for 5- to 7-year-olds and beginning, intermediate and advanced classes for children ages 8 to 13. Locations include Addison, Harwood Heights, Mt. Prospect, St. Charles and Stone Park. Adult classes range from beginning and intermediate to advanced and advanced conversational, and are taught at Casa Italia. Private lessons for children and adults also are available. ItalCultura offers a range of language and cultural courses at the Italian Cultural Institute in downtown Chicago. In addition to group classes ranging from beginner to advanced levels, courses and workshops cover topics such as Italian art, cinema, fashion, history and travel. Weekday, weeknight and Saturday classes begin in late September. (italculturachicago.com)

Scuola Italiana Enrico Fermi is offering a weekly playgroup in Italian for children up to 3 years old and their caregivers this fall, as well as Saturday morning Italian classes to children 3 to 5 years old and 6 to 8 years old. Classes begin in mid-September and are divided into three sessions that run for the entire academic year. (siefchicago.org)
