Cabrini Shrine hosts birthday benefit

More than 200 people attended the third annual birthday benefit of Mother Cabrini on July 15 at the National Shrine of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini in Chicago. The event celebrated the 165th birthday of America’s first saint. The evening began with a festive Mass at 5 p.m. in the Shrine, moving across the street for a reception at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Lincoln Park. The weather was glorious, with music and cocktails enjoyed in the garden followed by dinner and an auction, raising crucial funds for the Shrine.
